Hi there! Here is how to update your device:

[Notice: if you have a first generation iPad Air, iPad mini2 or mini3 Please read this discussion]

  1. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  3. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
  4. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Of course, it is recommended to have automatic updates so you can make sure you receive the latest security/feature improvements from apple. To do that:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  2. Tap Automatic Updates, then turn on Download iOS Updates.
  3. Turn on Install iOS Updates. Your device will automatically update to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Some updates might need to be installed manually.
