On my iPad Mini (6th generation) the icons are way too close together on the Home Screen. This leaves a blank space all around the edges of the screen, wasting the screen real-estate. My 5th gen iPad Mini has the icons spaced properly; how can I fix this on my 6th gen device?

This happened here as well to 7th gen iPads 10.2" as soon as they were updated to iOS 15. It changes the location of every icon and group (of which there are many) so we're relearning everything.
There used to be a setting for icon spacing. I don't see it anymore. I suppose that's been removed for reasons only known to Apple.
More cramped, but lots of 'margin' space, another step down in aesthetics.

Hey jennamarietx, I stumbled across a ridiculous workaround. If your Home Screen icons are now 6 across instead of 5, subsequently rearranging the location of every icon and every folder on every page :) turn your iPad into portrait view. Now you've got 5 across like you're used to.
Kind of related, are your phone dialer buttons now bunched closer together? Still usable, but easy to misdial. Just wondering if Applendevelopers suddenly had to work with different layout grids across the entire device. Or something.
I have the same problem. I had it on my 5th gen and now i upgraded it to 6th gen. Same thing.
Yep, the setting for icon spacing is gone. No doubt the Apple design folks had a good reason for removing it, right? Oh, well...
