Low volume since updating iOS 15

Since I updated my phone to iOS 15 I keep getting people saying they can barely hear me and speaker is a little better but not much. Has anyone had this issue? It’s very frustrating since I use my phone for work.

Hello Danny Eberhardt,

We see you're having some issues with others not hearing you on phone calls, and we'd like to help.

We'd recommend starting with the following page's steps: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working

When going through the steps, it'll advise to try recording yourself in the Voice Memos app, and then play it back to see if it sounds OK. If this doesn't sound right either, that can indicate a hardware issue.

Also, try testing things on a FaceTime audio call, which helps to rule out issues with the carrier's network from standard calls: Use FaceTime with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care.

Danny Eberhardt,

Just to clarify, when playing back the recorded memo in Voice Memos, everything sounded fine, is that right? Also, when testing via FaceTime audio call (instead of a standard call), was the other person able to hear you fine? If it did sound fine on the FaceTime audio call, this can indicate an issue with the carrier's network, and you may wish to try reaching out to them for further investigation.

If it also happens on FaceTime audio calls, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support for further investigation: Get Support

Be sure to also check for any updates available, such as the newer iOS 15.0.1 update: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, try restarting the iPhone, as this can help with that type of issue: Restart your iPhone

Cheers.
