Safari is installed as part of the Mac's operating system and can not normally be individually upgraded. therefore, you would need to upgrade (not update) your computer's operating system to a newer version. If that is not possible, they you can also consider using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox for some sites. They can be individually upgraded.


As to whether you can upgrade your OS, that is dependent on the year and model of your Mac and what OS you are currently running.
