how do i retrieve photos from time machine

Some photos disappeared from my photo albums. How do I retrieve them from Time Machine

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

You have to restore the whole library from time machine (to a differnet folder from your current library - I'd suggest a new subfolder of the pictures folder). Then open that library and get the images you want.


If you don't have enough space on the system drive for a copy of the whole library, you'll need to restore to an external drive (but not the time machine drive)


However, are you sure they've dissappeard? Have you looked in the all photos view?
