Are there known issues with iOS 15 and Apple CarPlay in Hondas?

My Honda Civic Apple CarPlay has issues using maps. Since mid iOS 14 and 15 the screen cuts off and goes black. Apple CarPlay shuts off and can not access until I turn car off and back on as well as unplug and replug my connection via USB port. It will irk until I get a message or call. Then it is gone. Extremely frustrating on road trips because I can not use GPS or maps of any application and use hands free link. Anyone else having problems with their Honda and Apple CarPlay?

We see you are experiencing issues with CarPlay and your Honda Civic, namely CarPlay unexpectedly stops working when you get a message or call.


If the issue has been prevalent in both iOS 14 and iOS 15, we'd recommend double checking if there is a firmware update for your stereo to restore compatibility.


Depending on the model of your Civic, you may be able to check for and install any necessary updates wirelessly.


If the issue persists after updating or if there is no update available, test with a different USB to Lightning cable, and try to replicate the issue from there.
