Entire HDD got erased by mistake

How can I reinstall the OS. There is only a grey screen and all safe modes and booting options have been tried. Cannot go beyond grey screen.

Hi Kaz. Unfortunately that’s not possible as none of the booting suggestions in the support are working. I’m just getting a freeze at a grey screen. Must mention that it seems even the startup disk seems to have got erased.

A blank screen (black, gray, or blue) should appear once or more during startup.

If no resolve—

Can you run the user Diagnostic...not as definitive as Apple's own AST2 (Apple Service Toolkit) back bench diagnostic, but may kick out an error code.
