safari stopped working after update to Mac OS 11.6

Dear all,

my safari has stopped working ever since I updated my Mac OS to 11.6. I have tried restore the Mac OS from my time machine and it works for 2 days, then it stopped working again.

i have installed google chrome and it doesn’t work too on this Mac OS…


I have been suffering this issue for more than 2 weeks, not sure anyone can please suggest me with a solution?

See if issues persist in safe mode or in another user account (if you don’t have another account then make a test user account with at-least standard or admin permission’s). If you have no issues in safe mode then it is not system wide which means it could simply be a permission issue or even account setting issue in networks or even possible malware which is unlikely but possible because a lot of times a simple restart can help with some malware/adware.

Sorry for your frustration. There have recently been many reports of a broad range of new problems on this support site about the latest release of Safari v15. It is included in the downloads for Big Sur and Catalina. If you are experiencing these problems, you can use another browser. You indicated some issue with Chrome, which you did not define. I suggest using Firefox. It works well and you can use it until a newer version of Safari is released. A lot of us have more than one browser installed for various reasons.

 

I have read here that Apple's support people have a link to reinstall Safari and that doing so often fixes the problem. You might check with them.
