Preference pane hangs in both Photos and System Preferences which I try to uncheck iCloud photos

This happens on my iMac and my MacBook. It does not happen in my family members' accounts on the same iMac.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

Boot into Safe Mode and try to disable iCloud Photos.
