"Show apple music" setting keeps turning back on iPhone/iPad

The iOS and iPadOS setting that turns off “Show Apple Music” keeps turning itself “on”. I have turned “Show Apple Music” off several times, only to discover it has been turned back on. This never used to happen. I have zero interest in paying for Apple Music. Don’t need it, don’t want it. To be constantly nagged about joining Apple Music is very irritating. Anyone have a fix for this? Pretty sure it started happening with the upgrade to iOS/iPadOS 13.

Add me to the list of those with this issue. It happens on both my iPhone and iPad. Every night something "triggers" a reset and the slider toggles back on.

Power cycling the device will also cause a reset of this "feature".

I HATE this kind of thing. I have ZERO interest in Apple Music streaming and don't need to be pestered to join every time I launch the Music App.

Adding screen shot of iPhone setting we are referring to. First photo shows the Music Setting, the second shows the actual setting to "Show Apple Music". it is toggled off in the photo. Overnight, this will toggle back on, by itself.

BTW, I have tried contacting Apple. Waste of time. Hours of time spentsdDadavddvv

There's a similar issue with macOS Monterey in the Music app.

There's a bug (?) where ejecting a CD -- yes, I still rip my CDs! -- will take you to the Apple Music section in the lefthand column, a section you can no longer hide as in Big Sur.

Worse, every few times this happens, you'll get a Subscribe nag window popup that must be dismissed before you can get back to the music you own on the computer you own.

I'm not sure if that's a bug or by design, so I'm also not sure how germane this reply is. But I am certain that I'm looking for alternatives to Music, for the first time since I started using (and loving) iTunes back in 2005.

I agree that this is NOT transparent by Apple. As this issue is never addressed I also believe it by design. That action does not respect my privacy one bit. And people are correct, when you update apps, or turn it off then on, it will toggle itself on. This is the MAIN reason I use other music services. I no longer trust Apple to tell the truth. And yes, this ranks right up there with Meta/Facebook's way of using its customers.

I agree. There is no honesty or transparency concerning this issue. It is deliberate and very sloppy coding. And someone is accountable and responsible. This unfortunately is adding to the issue of breaking up tech. And just how will tech satisfy the EU and the rest of the world. The EU will win as setting up 2 server networks to handle the EU and the USA and paying for 2 electricity bills is very expensive.
