How do I remove Notes from appearing in the bottom right hand side of my screen?

yes there is a preference to turn this off "Quick Note" a feature

Is hot corners active ?

sys pref, > desktop / screen saver > screen saver > Hot corner (option at bottom)

Close the Application completely - Command Q
