Trying to set up new 8plus iphone. in going through the set up process and using the old sim card, after putting in apple id and passcode it wants to send another verification code, but request goes to the old phone which doesnot have a sim card.. Is there another way of getting he verification code?

Well, I turned the old phone back on and there was the code. But it still didn't work. I finally gave up trying to do it manually. Did the pairing instead. Old phone needs to be turned on to do this. This has been so frustrating, but hope this helps.
