Motion template showing error image when opened in FCP

Whenever I open a saved motion template in FCP, this image shows up. I tried saving different kinds (generator, title, etc.) of templates but the same thing happened. Even opened up the default title temple from the welcome screen and saved it, still the same. Help!

If you're developing templates in Motion and saving them and FCPX will not open them, then the version of FCPX you are running may be older than the version of Motion you're using.

You can either update FCPX or you can "backdate" your templates.

https://fcpxtemplates.com/motion-template-backdater/. Just select which version of FCPX you have then upload the template to convert it.

Just be sure this is the issue before you start making changes. Check your app versions with this chart:

Hi

I'm not the most knowledgable about this topic, but it usually indicates that the A: FCP can't locate the template where it should be or B: the current version of your FCP cannot run a template created by your current version of Motion.

Fox Mahoney has a resource you can refer to for the Motion/FCP compatibility issue

EDIT: In the time it took to reply, Fox has already assisted. Apologies for the double up.
