The password field completely missing from all mail accounts in Internet Accounts

I keep receiving a notification to update my Exchange password under Internet Accounts but there is no password field under ANY of my internet accounts anymore! Not under Gmail, not under Exchange, not under iCloud. Where did they go? I believe I've noticed this a long time ago but just didn't look into it before. The operating system I have is Big Sur 11.6.

Greetings osando1,

We understand that you are having some difficulty finding your passwords under System Preferences > Internet Account, and we'd like to help. When you select the account from the sidebar, the password field should show in the middle of that window, unless you are using an app-specific password for that account. You can learn more about using app-specific passwords here:

Take care.

Well, not sure of that worker. My Mac keeps asking me randomly to update / re-renter my Exchange email password again and usually I ignore that notification because h have no clue why it appears when my email functions just fine; but the other day I decided to just do it hoping the Mac notification would stop appearing, and that is when I realized that huh, the password fields are completely gone.

Maybe it’s changed but it used to be that one can see the password field right there under Internet Accounta.
