I keep receiving a notification to update my Exchange password under Internet Accounts but there is no password field under ANY of my internet accounts anymore! Not under Gmail, not under Exchange, not under iCloud. Where did they go? I believe I've noticed this a long time ago but just didn't look into it before. The operating system I have is Big Sur 11.6.

We understand that you are having some difficulty finding your passwords under System Preferences > Internet Account, and we'd like to help. When you select the account from the sidebar, the password field should show in the middle of that window, unless you are using an app-specific password for that account. Thank you for your response, but nope, there no longer is a field for passwords there. There used to be one but it's been gone for a while now and I have no idea what an app-specific password is nor did I set that up since I don't know what it is. Below is a screen shot to show you that I do not have a password field.
No.. it doesn’t. I’ve tried that and many other things before I posted on here. The details only show my name and the name of the email acct.
... and for GMAIL those passwords are changed on the webmail GMAIL interface, not through the Apple Mail program. After changing it on the webmail interface, the next time you go to GMAIL under Apple Mail it should prompt you for confirming the new password.
Well, not sure of that worker. My Mac keeps asking me randomly to update / re-renter my Exchange email password again and usually I ignore that notification because h have no clue why it appears when my email functions just fine; but the other day I decided to just do it hoping the Mac notification would stop appearing, and that is when I realized that huh, the password fields are completely gone.
Maybe it’s changed but it used to be that one can see the password field right there under Internet Accounta.
Did you ever sort this out? I have the same issue - that I keep being asked to enter the password for my MS exchange account. - and, like you, I have ignored it but now find that calendar is not syncing events with the exchange server although he emails are!
