New I-MAC

I am replacing a mid 2010 MAC with a new model. I use time machine to back-up my existing MAC. Can I use the restore function on time machine to replace my existing files, applications, programs, documents, etc.....on the new MAC? Is there a better way to update this new computer?

Thanks,

Jim422

Before you start up the new iMac connect the old Macs Time Machine drive. When you start up the new one it will get to a point where it asks if you want to migrate. Select “yes” and follow the on screen prompts. You will need a USB adapter to connect the External Hard Disk to the new Mac, get one from Amazon. EASY!!!
