Erase Mac

I had the black screen of death. I held the power button for 10 seconds. Then immediately pressed and held command +R to get to the Mac OS Recovery.

The screen says “this volume has no admin users to authenticate. “ With no other options.

At the top there is an option to erase Mac. Does this completely erase the Mac? Do I have to reinstall any important programs?

In answer to your question, if you select the option to erase, then everything will be erased. Yes, you will then have to reinstall everything. I hope you have everything safely backed-up.
