Mojave for MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

I cannot install the Mojave operating system on my MacBook Pro 15" 2017

  • when I go to updates in the App Store it is not there
  • when I click on launch I have an option to install, but when I click on that option I get an error message, "This copy of the Install macOS Mojave application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS."

If you have opened the App Store Mojave download page and it says Open then the mac is detecting a copy of the Install macOS Mojave.app in your Applications folder or perhaps someone else on your mac. That error message is misleading.

Locate it, move it to the Trash, empty the Trash.

Connect your mac to your router via cable.

Restart your mac.

Open your Safari browser and click on this link,

How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

Go to the Use Safari to download macOS section.

Click on macOS Mojave.

This will redirect you to the App Store Mojave download page

it should now say Get or Download.

This will download Install macOS Mojave.app to your Downloads folder.
