apps from third party download on mac?

i'm new to mac my aunt gifted me her old one and i wanna download a minecraft launcher (dont worry i know its safe) but it wont let me install applications from anywhere? help?

To open apps from what Apple call unidentified developers simply open the Applications folder,

locate the app, Control- click on it and select Open, you will see another dialogue reminding you that it

is from an unidentified developer, click Open.

The app should launch. You only need to do this once.


Console is found in the Applications> Utilities folder.

You can also launch apps by typing the name of the app into Spotlight and pressing Return.
