Change the structure or rules for password generation in keychain

Hello,

I have so far been using Bitwarden as my password utility. Awesome application as free to use, ampple options for different platforms and easy synchronization. Since I have moved over to the apple ecosystem with my Win 10 laptop becoming my backup. I want to know if keychain users have as much flexibility as any other password manager utility allows with the length, count of numbers and special characters that can be used in password.

Also is there a way that I can additional information related to entry, apart from website, username and password.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello, yogeshmistry.

Having nothing to compare Apple's keychain process to (never used anything else) I can only say that I've never felt any compelling reason to look elsewhere. My secure passwords get generated, saved and made available on all my devices. The only issue (really it's a non-issue) is that from time to time a website might complain that a password is too long, but that has never required that I edit or shorten a generated entry. I simply choose to save the pw and continue on.

As for adding notes or info to a pw entry, as far as I can tell there is no provision for this. It does appear there is a way to add a secure note to a keychain, though I don't know any specifics of that.

Hello Mr Johnson,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. It wasnt really a gripe. I love the click save and forget the worries for your login details with Keychain, but like you pointed out some websites require special characters from a set pool.

The additional information so I can save card detail and some critical notes. I do have a temp solution which is password protected notes.

But all in all thank you for your reply.

I also have a habit of adding some additional characters to mix things up.
