If you know which ones that are - one can manually download them from https://support.apple.com/en_CA/downloads/macos.

Would suggest download and Stop there. Make a Time Machine Backup first.

The restart computer in Safe Mode, Hold Shift key until the Apple Logo is presented. It does some repairs disk, clear cache files na only loads Apple Software. So it boot slowly - Normal.

Then run the first update in this Safe Mode. Have found this way is often more successful than in Normal not.
