MacBook Pro turn black screen when tilted at certain angles

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro and recently when I tilt my screen back past a certain angle the screen turns black. I can't have the screen straight up otherwise it turns black so I can't do any of my work. Also my Mac is still on even when the screen turns black and it does not have to do with the battery.

If you have the MacBook Pro 13" (2016) model, then the laptop may qualify for the free Apple Display repair program:

https://support.apple.com/13-inch-macbook-pro-display-backlight-service

This free display repair program is only available for this one very specific model laptop and it is only valid for up to five years after the laptop was originally purchased even though I've seen the issue occur on the 15" model as well as the 2017 - 2020 models.

FYI, here is the current list of the publicly acknowledged free repair programs for various Apple products (some products have multiple programs):

it has to do with the flex cable, that sends the display signals through the hinge area to the display.

The "fix" is to replace your display -- at a cost to you (without AppleCare PLUS) of about US$650, or with AppleCare PLUS about US$99.

Another work-around is to connect your MacBook Pro to an external display or TV set with an adapter/cable.

I want to tackle the outlier on this problem because I had two customers in a year of fixing cell phones a long time ago with this complaint.

Are you wearing polarized sunglasses?

Others will catch this if it's the video cable or something, but this one is super weird because polarized light on LCD monitors won't pass contra-polarized sunglasses and if's mind-boggling the first time you see it.
