i have macbook pro 13" mid 2012 with os x mountain lion 10.8.5 . when try to sign in to icloud I'm getting the error message " cannot connect to icloud due to server . Can someone explain this message for me please

We’d like to know if you are using the Safari browser to try and access iCloud. If so, according to the “Minimum system requirements by feature” found in System requirements for iCloud you should be able to access the site.
Are you able to get to other sites, or use apps that require the internet?
