SHOULD I update to Monterey

My MacBook Pro is Mac OS Big Sur. 11.6.1. Why should I update to Monterey ? Sometimes updates screw everything up !! What are the pros and cons ?

You have to decide for yourself. I have always upgraded and updated as soon as software becomes available. I have never had anything get screwed up. On occasion, there is a bug or two but I just work through those. I'd rather have the newest features and abilities, and security updates, than run old software.
