The tri-sectional header space in Pages

The tri-sectional format of the header space in Pages is not always helpful. Is there any way to defeat it?

Pages Header Columns unchangeable...? In Pages... All the reading I have done suggests that those 3 columns in the header are fixed, immutable, impossible to resize (widthways). Surely it is obvious that sometimes you may want one to be wider or narrower, without having to do some id-depth engineering of a complicated workaround?

Header and footer on Pages I found there are three columns on Header and footer of Pages. How do I remove one of the columns? Or how can I adjust the width of the header? I have keyed in some words and it doesn't show all the words on the header.

Woth your new document open, click on the Document button to open the document inspector in the right sidebar, then click to deselect the Header and Footer checkboxes.
