If I have setup 2 factor authentication with my iPhone number for my Apple ID can I also use my same number for trusted device for 2 factor authentication for my mother’s Apple ID?

You might have to upgrade iOS in order to use the last method.

Thanks for the response. No, I haven’t tried it yet because I use my iPhone for my Apple ID 2F authentication and didn’t want to lock myself out of that ability by adding my mother’s Apple ID to my phone number. I also want to block other family members from ‘accidentally’ changing her Apple ID again.
Yes, we tried that yesterday. She couldn’t find the notifications, she wasn’t getting the texts. I was trying to use my phone as a trusted device, etc and then she had to go into settings. She’s nearly blind and doesn’t understand ANYTHING tech so I really didn’t want her in settings. It was all fine until the ID reset. I guess I’m going to have to have her find a way to send me the phone to set it up for her again. Thanks for the help.
Did you try it and see? I do not think there would be any reason why not, since it is possible an entire family might decide to use a single home landline as a trusted device.
