Possible phishing

Email from Apple from So. Carolina message recorded there has been a phishing "deficit" on my Apple ID. Tried to call Apple spt and got a recorded sale pitch trying to get me to buy a emergency home notification device. Would not stop talking. Had to restart to end it.

How do I get a person for help?

Thank you. But what's with Apple Support forcing a sale on the help line? Very concerning.

Numbers in phishing emails do not lead to where they say they do. That's the whole point. They are trying to trick you into calling them/visiting their website so they can get information from you. If they gave you the real Apple phone number in the phishing email, they wouldn't be able to trick you out of your Apple ID and passcode or out of your credit card number.
