Airplay to mac within window?

Hello,


I like the airplay functionality from the ipad to mac. However, is it possible to just have a designated window for the airplay? I use OBS to stream my for my class and would like to just use be able to do other things on the computer while streaming my ipad.

Hi spvan,


You can use a quirk in QuickTime Player to display the screen and audio from your iPad on your Mac.


  1. Connect your iPad to your Mac using the appropriate cable.
  2. If prompted, allow your iPad to trust your computer. You might have to enter your passcode on your iPad.
  3. Open QuickTime Player on your Mac. It's a preinstalled app.
  4. At the top of the screen, select File -> New Movie Recording.
  5. Click the down arrow next to the record button. Select your iPad as the camera and audio.
  6. If successful, your iPad screen and audio should now be streamed to your Mac inside the QuickTime Player window.
