I found a MacBook Air at my work. Now I want to know how i can reach the owner.

You should contact your employer and confirm if the Mac belongs to an employee (the most likely case).

If your employer is unable to locate the owner for the Mac, you should contact local law enforcement. Provide the serial number (engraved on the bottom of the MacBook Air) and any other relevant information needed to assist with the search for the owner.

Be honest about it, and it over to security at work. Have them place it aside, until it is requested. Seems the safest way to go about this.

You can't. Keep it in a safe location at work and maybe the owner will come by to get it.
