Deleting storage space from "other"

OTHER

I am almost out of storage space on my mac pro and want to get rid of the significant space taken my by "other". It takes up about 80 GB while everything else combined only takes up about 20GB. I have tried everything but can't figure out how to lower the GB in "Other". Please help!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

First, take a look at See used and available storage space on your Mac - Apple Support.

If the issue persists, Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support, log in, and restart back into normal mode and view the storage.

You could also try to reinstall macOS: How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support. However, make sure you have a backup first: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support.

Cheers,

Jack
