My iPhone iOS 15.1 won't sync with macoS 10.14.6

My iphone ios15.1 won't sync with Mac os10.14.6 - is there a way around this?

If Memory is correct - when the iPhone running iOS 15 is connect to Computer running Mojave via cable and iTunes opens - there should be an updated offered automatically by Apple to install an update so the new iOS can be understood on the computer.


Has this occurred yet ?
