i have all requirements for update but why can't I update? I have enough storage too.

I'm trying to update my macbook pro to the latest OS but it won't allow me to do any updates. I have 70 gigs of space left on HD and anytime I do a software update it wont let me do it. I have a Macbook pro Retina 13" mid 2014.

The latest upgrade is macOS Monterey 12.1 and your mid 2014 MacBook Pro is not compatible with that. See: How to upgrade to macOS Monterey - Apple Support

A mid 2014 can be upgraded to the latest version of Big Sur but no later. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683
