Is there a way to set up Preview so that when I open a document I don't have to zoom in so many times to read it?

I'd also like to know if there is a way to keep the document the way it was when I closed it.

Both of these would be huge time savers for me.

Thanks!

Preview does not remember the previous zoom setting when you close and reopen the same PDF. There is no user setting to override this feature. What zoom factor are you using? Typing ⌘-+ once zooms to 150% from an initial 100%.
