Can't upgrade

when i try to upgrade my macbook from osx yosemite to big sur on the app store, it says that the apple id password is wrong, even though it isn't. i write the same password on everything else that requires apple id and it works

the macbook previously did have macos big sur installed, but my dad deleted it, along with everything else, before giving it to me

To remove Big Sur would required Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac and then How to reinstall macOS then setting it up again under your own Apple ID.


Notation - the Reinstallation would reinstall the version of macOS associated with the Recovery Volume.
