I have tried all the options to download all my photos/albums from my iMac to iCloud and nothing has worked. I purchased 200 Gigs of storage and have 85 Gigs of photos on my mac hard drive. Why can't I save those to iCloud?
Are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
A reference library won't sync to iCloud. Also be aware that the iCloud Library is only a syncing feature and not an off computer storage facility. Any changes make to either library, i.e. additions, edits or deletions, will be reflected in the other library.

Not understanding the difference. And I thought iCloud was an off-site storage so in case my computer was destroyed i could retrieve the photos. Thanks. Then iCloud doesn’t work for my purposes.
