Folder Icons with Folder Aliases issue

Hi,

Currently in Monterey, if I create an alias of a folder that had its own Icon image, then the icon Image is not duplicated on the alias. In previous operating systems, the icon would be duplicated on the alias.

I see that if I manually recreate the icon on the alias folder then it will show up however is this just the way Monterey works where is away to automatically have the image duplicated when you make an alias of a folder?

Aliases have always been a private and proprietary format. And they have changed multiple times. It is common for OS updates to break existing aliases.
