Apple ID sign in

I got a new phone and it is saying the was a verification failure. And there is a error connecting to the Apple ID server

A "Verification Failed" message is used in various scenarios which could be either a communication issue, or a problem with your account.


'If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud' click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT203512


"If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services" click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201400

- If none of the suggestions work, try the last one: "If you’ve tried all of the above steps and you still can’t connect, contact Apple Support."


Verification Failed "problem connecting to the server" March 2018 - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8321958 - Needed to connect over wi-fi and not through cellular.


And the opposite:

"Verification Failed, An unknown error occurred" March 2018 - https://discussions.apple.com/message/33184357#message33184357 - "tried again with Wifi off and it worked"


If those don't resolve the problem, I suggest you contact Apple:


Contact Apple. Click here --> https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Despite being officially Recommended, I suspect the article about Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication has absolutely no bearing upon your issue. An error with connecting to Apple ID server is a lot more likely due to the list of items in the documents I posted. Frankly it is highly likely due to a poor Wi-Fi or data connection between your device and Apple's iCloud servers. You make absolutely no mention of this being related to two factor authentication and the only way the items in the Recommended document will help is if you are using that feature and you decide to get a telephone call with an authentication code instead. However, as I said, this being related to 2-factor is all speculative and we are not allowed to speculate on this forum. From what you posted this is a communication issue with a simple log in request to iCloud which is discussed in the documents I posted.


I strongly recommend you read the solutions I posted in my document if you wish to resolve this problem.
