Why can i not see the plus icon on my iphone
I bought an iphone x and when i hold down on the screen the apps jiggle but the plus in the top left hand corner doesn’t appear. i want to add widgets to the home screen. Thank you

And when the apps wiggle, you are looking for the + at the top left corner of the home screen?
You need to be in a home screen, not the app library. The app library is the last screen when you swipe left on the home screens.
That is not iOS 15. iOS 15 uses “-“ instead of “X” on every icon whereas some icons in iOS 13 and below don’t have the “X” on some icons. When you checked for the version number, did you happen to see that iOS 15 is available to download rather than actually running it? Could you show us a screenshot of Settings > General > Software Update?
Check the iOS version. In 15.1 on my iPhone 11 the remove icon is a - sign. Not an x like on yours.
Is iOS 14 or later installed on your iPhone? If unsure, go to Settings > General > About > Software Version.
yes they are. i looked at that and it is ios 15.1
