Unable to sign into App Store after wiping clean SSD

I have a mid 2013 MacBook Air, I just wiped the hard drive, erasing everything all the way back to having to install OS X Mountain Lion. I have installed and when I go to update it says “unable to connect to App Store”. I am unable to sign in to App Store, what do I do?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

Thanks for the quick response, I will attempt to do that. Just starting too and it is in the “Starting Internet Recovery” mode.

That will run at the speed of your internet connection or of Apple’s servers, and the files downloaded tend to be in the gigabyte range.
