Shortcuts app on Mac
Is it known whether or not the shortcuts app can be used for anything on MacBook air or is it strictly for IOS only?

Yes. That is what I am questioning is whether or not they work on the mac because every time I try to use a shortcut it tells me that the operation cannot be executed because there's no app or software associated with it. I am sure there is something I am doing wrong or for the lack of doing something.
