Is it possible upgrade from the standard SATA hard drive to an internal SSD on a Apple iMac Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Mid 2017 - 3.0GHz Core i5, in the tech spec it states its not removable mediator detachable drive. I appreciate it's not easy getting the screen off, but I intend to change the RAM anyway.

It’s almost certainly replaceable, but it’s hard. I would recommend just getting a Thunderbolt SSD and booting off of that instead of messing around inside. My friend upgraded the RAM and replaced the HDD with an SSD in his iMac, only to smash the corner of the screen while putting it back on.
Not possible, unfortunately. Furthermore, the RAM isn’t user-upgradeable, you’ll need to have Apple or an Apple-approved service provider do it for you ($$$).
