iPod Nano 7th Gen

MacBook Pro (Big Sur) won't sync to my iPod Nano 7th Gen. Is the iPod obsolete?

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I successfully transferred some playlists from my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) Big Sur 11.6.2 to my iPod Nano 7th Gen (software rev 1.0.4 PC). It is working fine. There is a several second delay after pressing "Synch" for which I believe I did not account in my initial request for help. I have always used iPods for listening to music while traveling on airplanes and can still use the ancient Nano 7th Gen with an external battery pack to maintain power. I prefer not store music on my iPhone X. So, I'm back in business. Thanks again for your assistance!
