A subscription to what?

Also, you cannot setup Family Sharing from an Apple TV, only from an iPhone, iPad, iPod or Mac.

Once setup, logging in on the Apple TV to an Apple ID that has been joined to Family Sharing will let the Apple TV access all the shared features.
