Bluetooth and MFi hearing aids

The MFi Hearing aids are bluetooth. Is the access to iOS devices software or hardware based? If software, is there a hack out there to get that to work with MacOS???? I really don't want to have to spend $400 for some additional device to make my Resound One hearing aids work with my Mac!!

I finally got the correct answer as to why it doesn't/won't work from a developer friend:

Made For iPhone (MFi) hearing devices will not work with the Bluetooth Framework within macOS because it lacks the Audio Streaming for Hearing Aid protocol (ASHA over BLE). I’m certain it is plausible to accomplish if iOS has the capabilities, just implementation hasn’t been thought out.

So...Apple...why not include that bit of code into MacOS??? Doesn't seem like rocket science to me!
