I am upgrading to an iPhone 13 and don't want to mount to my motorcycle (vibration issues).. I have an older iPhone 8 that I would like to use as a GPS (mount to motorcycle).. my plan is to tether the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 13 hotspot to allow for service on iPhone 8. Given the iPhone 8 has GPS, it seems in theory this would work... any issues that anone might see with this?

Yep. That will work. Recommendation is to put your iPhone 8 in Airplane Mode and then set Wi-Fi to ON. This will keep it from searching for a cellular network.
