How can I predict what applications will stop working when I upgrade MacOS?

My Acrobat Pro won't run on my newer MacBookPro running Catalina, but still runs my older MBP running Sierra 10.12.6. Sierra support just ended, so I want to try to update to High Sierra 10.13 or later, but I'm reluctant if it means I'll have to shell out to replace apps I'm perfectly happy with. How can I look before I leap? Is there some app I can run that will scan my apps and tell me?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

The major change was from Mojave to Catalina or later. 32-bit apps will run in Mojave or earlier but will not run in Catalina or later.

See the following: 32-bit app compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later - Apple Support

Also see the: "How to Check if an App is 32-Bit or 64-Bit in macOS Mojave" section of https://www.macrumors.com/guide/32-bit-mac-apps/

Another option to identify 32-bit apps is https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/
