Apple ID will not Activate for podcast connect.

This same question was asked a while ago and there was one response. I followed the directions and "authorized" my computer but it still did not work. So I clicked the link for iTunes support and got it said my Apple ID was not activated. HOW do you ACTIVATE the ID?


Hi, I'm trying to upload a podcast show to apple podcasts, I created apple ID, set up a payment method and billing, and yet when I log in to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/ I receive this message:

Activate your Apple ID
You need to finish activating your Apple ID before you can use it on Apple Podcasts Connect. For more information, check our support article on creating an Apple Podcasts Connect account. Learn More



I did everything in the "Learn more" link but still cant get inside the podcasts section.


When I try to use the "contact us" or "support" functions I'm redirected to the same page to activate my apple ID.

This has been a problem for some people. You must have a payment method registered in Apple Music/iTunes: make sure your computer is authorised to play purchases (Apple Music or iTunes menu Account>Authorisations>Authorise this Computer). Then try logging in at https://podcastsconnect.apple.com


If this fails I would suggest reporting it Podcasts Support. Go to Apple Podcasts for Creators and click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page.


If that fails the next step is to contact Apple Support: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable


Don't present this as a podcasting problem - they don't handle those and will refer you to Podcasts Support (or give you an inaccurate answer judging by some people's experience). Present the problem as being the inability to access Podcasts Support. It's also been suggested that getting them to look at your Apple ID may clear matters.
