I have a 2013 IMAC. TurboTax says in 2022, I will need Big Sur operating system. I don't see my 2013 IMAC being able to use Big Sur. Does this mean I need to buy a new computer?

The upcoming version of TurboTax for 2022 may require Big Sur. Can't find anything about a new 2022 version when searching though. Only info for the 2021 version.

The current 2021 version can run on macOS 10.15 Catalina and would still work on your Mac.

If you absolutely must run TurboTax 2022 once its released, then you will need a newer Mac that can run Big Sur or Monterey yes.

This says catalina should work:

Another option is using TurboTax's online tax return. Please remember your computer is now 10 years old and the TurboTax people simply do not support HS which means that yes, you should be planning on a new computer. We get posts like yours every year because TurboTax simply does not support older versions of Mac OS.

It means that for the 2022 version if you want to upgrade you will need Big Sur or later. If you don't upgrade to the 2022 version, then you don't need Big Sur.

That link was for 2021. Th eOp was asking about 2022.

It is 2022., but I understand now he means Tax Year 2022.
