How can I save my Launchpad app arrangement in Monterey?

How can I save my Launchpad app arrangement in Monterey?

Previous macOS versions automatically saved my Launchpad arrangement with each bootup.

I like to keep the same order and arrangement of apps in Launchpad on both my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. Each time I boot up Monterey, my arrangement is lost.

Does anyone know a macOS, terminal, or even another app I can download that will save Launchpad arrangements like all previous versions of macOS have done?

Mac mini, macOS 12.1

Hello SonofWayne,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with saving your Launchpad layout. We're happy to provide some information to assist.

We recommend ensuring any apps added are also in your applications folder. Use Launchpad on your Mac

Before changing anything in terminal we'd also recommend testing the issue in safe mode and while using a new user account.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

You can also test the issue after an NVRAM reset. Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

However, others have had similar issues in the past. If you are comfortable with terminal a be sure you have a backup Back up your Mac, and the following to reset and test may help.

RESTORE ORIGINAL LAUNCHPAD

Launchpad database location

Launchpad Preferences? Doesn't save organization.
