Try resetting the SMC: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support.

If you are able to mount it, use that opportunity to extract as much undamaged content from that disk as possible. The hard disk itself cannot be fixed and at least some data is already irretrievably gone.

On what device and what operating system was this drive formatted as Fat 32 ?

Was it formatted on an Apple Computer, Windows or Linux computer ?

What happens when the drive is moved to the other computer ? Does the drive work ?

If Yes, suggest reformatting as exFat and Master Boot Record and then attempt to use it on the Apple computer. Do is work again ?

If not and depending on the age of the drive - it may have failed.
