can't update my Mac

I'm trying to upgrade my Mac to MacOS Monterey but when I try to update it application not responding keeps coming up and I have plenty of storage space and its a brand new Mac Pro so its not like its a old computer has anyone any solutions on what to do?

Your download may be corrupt. You could delete the download and try it again. Or if you have a flash drive to install a bootable install. Create it and install it that way.How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

Mac Pro is a Desktop, MacBook Pro is a Notebook—you posted in MacBook Pro.

You do not paint a very big picture, I do understand "wont let me update"...


what exact Mac...?

Are you logged into your admin account?

Are you getting to the App Store?

Are you getting any error messages/ dialog box / anything?

Does the down load start and then fail?

Is this a personal computer or bound to Enterprise / MDM?


try booting into SafeBoot mode and try again from this environment: SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262



I can say all known to cause issues, therefore—

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus
